Community Grant Projects

Overview

The Community Grants Program supports Course for the Cure™ graduates and network participants to transform the lessons learned from training workshops into action. Global Initiative participants collaborate to design innovative, short-term community projects that address the breast cancer-related gaps identified through their Community Profile research.

Projects are chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Collaborative Approach:
Projects should provide the opportunity for Global Initiative advocates and multiple organizations to work together.
  • Sustainability:
Projects must have a long-term plan for sustainability beyond the implementation period.
  • Addresses Gaps Identified by Community Profile:
Community Profile findings should inform the design of project proposals and the team should clearly demonstrate how the proposed activities address needs identified in the Community Profile.
  • Potential to Impact Breast Health:
Projects should have a measurable impact on the gaps it seeks to address at the local, regional or national level.
  • Innovative approach:
Projects should identify areas not already covered by current programs, and address the issue in a new and innovative manner.

At this time Community Grants are only available to Global Initiative networks. If you would like further information regarding the Community Grants program please contact us at international@komen.org.
