The Global Initiative for Breast Cancer Awareness has worked with local partners and advocates to increase awareness, screening, and early detection of breast cancer in ten countries across Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. In each country, the Initiative has between three and six core training sites where networks of breast cancer advocates have formed. The reach of the Initiative in each country has expanded with 59 community grant projects that have successfully engaged many new communities. These projects have strengthened the collaboration and capacities of each country’s network.

The Global Initiative has been implemented in the following countries:  Brazil, Costa Rica, Egypt, Jordan, Mexico, Panama, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates.
