A Day For You Poster

The community grant project “A Day For You” utilized positive messaging to teach the importance of Breast Self-Awareness to over 250 women from the low-income community of Paraisópolis, São Paulo.

• The project partnered with beauty products company Payot to offer make-over sessions to 252 women of the community over the course of four sessions.
• The purpose of the program was to raise breast cancer awareness, dispel myths and highlight the positive message that taking care of one’s health is just as important as the attention we give to our appearance.
• Childcare was provided and each woman received a photograph of her “new look” along with a beauty kit after she attended a Breast Self-Awareness session.
• Almost 75% of the participants had never before attended a breast health event of any kind.
