
Christ the Redeemer in Pink
Approximately 5,000 people participated in the first ever Race for the Cure® in Brazil, which took place in Rio de Janeiro on October 24, 2010 and included a 3km walk and a 6km race.
- Events included a Survivor’s Stage, a Health Village and free mammography screening by the National Cancer Institute and Berreto Cancer Hospital, and celebrity appearances.

The emblematic Christ the Redeemer statue was lit pink during the month of October.

Race for the Cure
- The race committee included Sociedade Franco-Brasileira de Oncologia, Instituto Oncoguia, FEMAMA, Sociedade Brasileira de Oncologia Clinica and Sociedade Brasileira de Mastologia.
- A total of $75,000 was raised to support breast cancer activities in Rio de Janeiro.
