Innovation through Art and Media
Community grants projects in Ukraine are using the groundbreaking approach of interactive theater to spread the word about breast cancer and encourage an open discussion about behavior change and making healthy choices. Projects also are using web technology to connect key decision makers and organizations to improve communication and access to information.
Improving Clinical Breast Exams
Clinical Breast Exam (CBE) is an important screening method for breast cancer. Increasing women’s access to CBE performed by qualified health professionals has been a primary focus of Community Grant projects in Ukraine. As of 2011, more than 14,000 women have been screened for breast cancer through CBE and by health professionals engaged in Community Grant projects.
